  • What is a CSA?
In a typical CSA program, members pledge to help cover the anticipated costs of the farm’s production. In return, the members receive a box of produce every week for 12 weeks, from May 17th to August 9th, 2023. The CSA allows the farm to have working capital in the late winter and early spring when it is needed most and aids in guaranteeing a market for the produce that will be grown.
  • How do I purchase the CSA?
Members can purchase the CSA on this site through check-out. Members are also welcome to bring checks or cash to the Rustburg Extension Office 16 Kabler Lane Rustburg, Va 24588 4343329538 info@puckettefarms.com
  • What will I receive in my weekly produce box?
In this particular CSA, members can expect to receive a weekly box, containing approximately 15 items, of your summer favorites such as yellow squash, zucchini, watermelon, cantaloupe, tomatoes, cucumber, carrots, potatoes, sweet yellow corn, kale, onions, green beans, collards, bell peppers, acorn squash, pumpkins, and much more!
  • Where will I pick-up my weekly produce box?
Members will select a pick-up location, either Gladys, Rustburg, Lynchburg, or Forest, when selecting their CSA box. Pick-up times and dates will be announced as the CSA start date approaches.
  • What are the rules for pick-up?
    1. Pick up members’ shares within the allotted time frame. Farm products can deteriorate if not picked up on time and stored properly. 2. Follow rules for pick-up sites, such as parking limitations, as provided by the Farm. If Member cannot pick up Member’s share, Member must arrange for a substitute to pick up share. Members will need to explain the pick-up site location and procedures to the Member's substitute. Any shares not retrieved in a timely fashion will be sold to other markets or donated
  • How do I know the produce is safe and of good quality?
The Farm is Good Agriculture Practices (GAP) Certified, a USDA audit program through which producers can demonstrate their compliance with food safety requirements to purchasers and retailers.
  • What if there is crop failure?
By joining Puckette Farm’s CSA, both Farm and Member are agreeing to share in the risk of crop failure, due to factors such as inclement weather and pests. If a crop failure does happen, Farm’s normal policy is to give Members other crops ready to harvest and/ or buy crops from other local farms.
